Welcome from the Delaware Commssioner:As the current Delaware Commissioner to Clan Donald USA, I would like to take this time to welcome you to the internet home of a truly great organization. Hopefully you will find the history associated with Clan Donald as intriguing as I and many others do! A great example of that is my own connection to Clan Donald, though my Grandfathers family, the Kanes. The Kanes in the14eh century known as the O’Cathains ran the school at the Dungiven Priory, most notably Angus Oge McDonald (Lord of the Isles) who would later marry my ancestor Finvola O’Cathian. Without knowing any of our own ancestral heritage, I became interested in Clan Donald through honorary high commissioner Mr. Ellice McDonald Jr. CBE, and his wife Rosa H. McDonald CBE. With my grandfather and the McDonald’s as inspiration, I took off on this great genealogical journey . I encourage you as a member or prospective member to attend an event with us in the near future.
