The Scottish Youth Program of Clan Donald of Maryland is a non-profit Scottish heritage and fellowship organization covering Maryland. Membership is open to anyone who has an interest in Scottish culture or is of Macdonald or MacDonald Septs. of Scottish/Celtic descent.

The goals of the Program are:

• Enjoyment of all aspects of Scottish culture
• Education and community outreach regarding all aspects of Scottish culture.
• Promoting awareness of the connection between American and Scottish culture.

To achieve these goals, the Foundation sponsors and/or participates in a wide variety of exciting events, including festivals, classes, parades and dinners such as our gala Burns Nicht Celebration. We offer a concert/lecture series, membership meetings with speakers, a scholarship program, organized trips to Highland Games, and other interesting activities. Things We Do:

• Enjoy a formal Burns Night Supper with pipe band, haggis, traditional toasts & Scottish foods, Scottish music, dancing & other entertainment. The evening wraps up with a ceilidh ("kay-lee": informal singing and dancing) - that lasts until...?
• April 6, National Tartan Day: We present our history and heritage.
• Kirkin O' Tartans: A local church hosts a service including pipe music, where all Scots are recognized and the Tartans are blessed.
• Host booths at a Scottish Games and Festivals, Celtic Festivals, and Local Games and Festival.
• We honor St. Andrew, the Patron Saint of Scotland, with a night of music, food and good fellowship.
• Ongoing Ceilidh dance & Gaelic classes
• Concerts showcasing a variety of artists.
• Study Scottish history
